Course Description
In this 4 hour presentation, Dr. LaRusso and Attorney John Floyd  will discuss defense of a chiropractic malpractice case based on proper clinical procedures and documentation. Their presentation will include a Q&A to answer attendee questions.

John Floyd Sr. is the managing partner of Wicker Smith’s Nashville Office. John has been practicing for over 30 years and during that period, he has tried to verdict over 100 jury trials. A significant number of these trials involved the defense of healthcare providers in medical negligence claims. John is board certified in medical malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys which is approved by the American Bar Association. He is also certified as a trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. John is presently National Counsel for a large medical malpractice carrier wherein he is retained to assist local defense counsel with selection of experts, trial strategy and trial. These cases often involve significant brain injuries and other spinal related injuries. John is presently admitted to practice pro hac vice in eighteen states. John is frequently asked to assist at trial on short notice and relishes the opportunity to work with counsel to develop the best trial strategy to achieve a successful result.

Salvatore LaRusso, DCDr. LaRusso
Dr. Salvatore D. LaRusso currently serves as Chair of the International Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  He was first elected to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2008 to serve a one year term. Dr. LaRusso was elected as an NBCE at-large director in 2010; he currently holds this office and serves as the organization’s treasurer.

Dr. LaRusso is a graduate of New York Chiropractic and obtained his undergraduate degree in business administration from Seton Hall University. He has been active in many international, national, state and local organizations. In 1998, Dr. LaRusso was a gubernatorial appointee to the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine, and has served as board chair. From 2005 to present, he serves as chairman of the Florida Board’s Certified Chiropractic Physicians’ Assistant Committee. Dr. LaRusso is a long-standing member of both the Florida Chiropractic Association and the Florida Chiropractic Society (FCS), and has served as president and chairman. The FCS named Dr. LaRusso Chiropractor of the Year in 1994, awarded him the Gavel Award in 1993 and honored him the Distinguished Service to the FCS in 1992.
